THE 169 TR

From 0,00

A soft, stable mouthpiece offering warm density, a deep foundation, and comfortable emission across the range.

Description

“The 169TR uses the Tone Ring to adjust impedance and produce a warm density, a deep softness, and a stable presence in the sound.
Its large cup provides natural width, a settled air column, and an immediate sense of a full, warm tone.
The short contour gives a smooth, rounded response and keeps the warmth consistent across the entire register.
The Tone Ring adds a gentle yet solid foundation, blending sustain, roundness, and warm depth, characteristic of the TR series

Silver plating

A  layer of silver is deposited on the brass.

Thanks to its good thermal conductivity, silver provides a smooth and comfortable feel on the lips.

We have chosen an exceptional plating with a thick layer of silver – 20 µm, ensuring very high quality and long-term durability.

Gold plating

A  layer of pure 24-carat gold is deposited over the silver plating.

Thanks to its high thermal conductivity, gold provides a soft and warm sensation on the lips.

We have chosen an excellence plating in pure 24-carat gold, the only metal that does not oxidize over time.

Tone Ring

A brand new development from Donat mouthpieces, in collaboration with Dutch musicians: Tone-Ring mouthpieces, available for cornet and flugelhorn, designed to give an unmatched combination of sound and playability.

Along with a unique new design, adding a Tone-Ring to the cup, a shorter heavy blank has been developed for improved tuning. Characteristic for the Tone-Ring mouthpieces is a big and rich sound, maintaining its integrity with clean articulation at all dynamics, throughout the range of the instrument.

“The Tone-Ring concept really is a game changer. Try it to believe it!”             Ko de Rooij

Playing a ‘3 bfl D.Wick’ I was looking for an embouchure with a more pronounced ‘flugelhorn’ timbre, so that during performances where I use the trumpet and the flugelhorn I would have a big difference in timbre between the two instruments thus broadening my sound palette and my playing.
The mouthpiece ‘Donat 169 TR’ is a deep mouthpiece with a fairly large grain, it requires energy but the emission is sure the tone is wide and warm…
The mouthpiece ‘Donat 169 TR’ through my ‘Couesnon Monopole’ gives me the sensations I have been looking for for a long time.
Orification finalizes the impeccable craftsmanship of this mouthpiece, making contact more pleasant
