THE 165 TR

From 5,00

A wide, warm, gentle mouthpiece with a soft foundation and immediate comfort across the range

Description

“The 165TR uses the Tone Ring to adjust impedance, bringing a warm density, a natural softness, and a rounded presence to the sound.
Its very large cup provides an immediate sense of width, great ease in the mid–low register, and a naturally full tone from the first notes, even with a medium rim.
The short contour enhances ease and comfort: the mouthpiece responds smoothly, remains stable, and maintains a consistent warmth across the entire range.
The Tone Ring adds a distinctive sonic foundation — a blend of roundness, sustain, and gentle depth, characteristic of the TR series

The real + : A mouthpiece with warmth, width, and stable softness, offering a natural sustain thanks to the Tone Ring

Review

“I had the chance to try the 165TR mouthpiece during a full rehearsal, and I’ll be ordering it in gold-plated version.
It suits me perfectly.

My conductor immediately noticed the difference — he said the sound quality was much better.

From the outside, he even said I seemed to play better, even though I didn’t change anything in my playing.

You were absolutely right.

Thank you very much for your advice and guidance.”

Silver plating

A  layer of silver is deposited on the brass.

Thanks to its good thermal conductivity, silver provides a smooth and comfortable feel on the lips.

We have chosen an exceptional plating with a thick layer of silver – 20 µm, ensuring very high quality and long-term durability.

Gold plating

A  layer of pure 24-carat gold is deposited over the silver plating.

Thanks to its high thermal conductivity, gold provides a soft and warm sensation on the lips.

We have chosen an excellence plating in pure 24-carat gold, the only metal that does not oxidize over time.

Shipping Time

→ If the chosen mouthpiece appears to be “in stock” (as in the image opposite), it will be shipped to you between 1 and 3 working days following your order.

→If the chosen mouthpiece does not appear to be “in stock” (as in the image opposite), it will take an average of 4 weeks.

When the mouthpiece is not in stock, we will make it for you in our workshop within 2-3 working days of your order.

It will then be sent to our silversmith – aurifier. Upon receipt of this, its deadline for carrying out its tackle varies between 10 and 15 days. After his work, he sends the mouthpiece back to us and we in turn send it to you. For this finest of work and for all these short back and forth, it takes an average of 4 weeks between ordering and expedition.

Tone Ring

A brand new development from Donat mouthpieces, in collaboration with Dutch musicians: Tone-Ring mouthpieces, available for cornet and flugelhorn, designed to give an unmatched combination of sound and playability.

Along with a unique new design, adding a Tone-Ring to the cup, a shorter heavy blank has been developed for improved tuning. Characteristic for the Tone-Ring mouthpieces is a big and rich sound, maintaining its integrity with clean articulation at all dynamics, throughout the range of the instrument.

“The Tone-Ring concept really is a game changer. Try it to believe it!”             Ko de Rooij
