Silver plating
A layer of silver is deposited on the brass.
Thanks to its good thermal conductivity, silver provides a smooth and comfortable feel on the lips.
We have chosen an exceptional plating with a thick layer of silver – 20 µm, ensuring very high quality and long-term durability.
Gold plating
A layer of pure 24-carat gold is deposited over the silver plating.
Thanks to its high thermal conductivity, gold provides a soft and warm sensation on the lips.
We have chosen an excellence plating in pure 24-carat gold, the only metal that does not oxidize over time.

Reviews
Alphonse Armand –
My favorites were the DOE and the 163F, but I finally chose the 163F. I tried to feel each mouthpiece without any bias, and it’s true — that raised cup really works well!
Sebastien S. –
A little less greedy but it remains a mouthpiece to go up in the high register against E on the last session with hold and well opened. My average bore of trumpet makes it possible to control this ardor and flexibility well. I really felt the potential and while being less tired that’s it I managed to put my Selmer 3S mouthpiece thank you Donat!
Vincent Cabot –
I chose the 163F Gold model, and I’m very satisfied with my purchase. I can already see a real improvement in my playing thanks to this new mouthpiece. Thank you for all the guidance and advice you’ve provided. The build quality is flawless, and it’s clear that I’ll be recommending you to my fellow musicians. I’m proud to play a French “Made in Donat” mouthpiece
Fred Ferlay –
Your mouthpieces are really great, bravo
I would like to keep the test models while waiting for the receipt of the new mouthpieces
Pascal Poissonet –
I tested the 163F mouthpiece — it truly does you credit! I’ve never been able to reach the high register so easily. I never thought I’d one day move away from my trusted Schilke mouthpieces
Willem B. –
A very well executed piece.
And fast service, great packaging as well.
Looks are stunning. Best piece I have in that department.
Sizewise, spot on.
Comfortable rim as well, easy to play a lead book.
Great stuff about the maker’s magic
It works as it should, or at least as I expected – a very robust piece that will work fine for a lead book or in a bigband section.
The way it handles my airstream is excellent, rim is comfortable but not too flat or wide.
The whole setup of blank, throat, and backbore works amazingly well for this shallow, smallish cup. I think in the old tradition 163 is somewhere around Bach 7, and that Bach is way too small and uncomfortable for me. Your 163F feels comfortably large enough but yet small and efficient

I had already taken one from you and I am very happy with what you offer as a mouthpiece
