Silver plating

A  layer of silver is deposited on the brass.

Thanks to its good thermal conductivity, silver provides a smooth and comfortable feel on the lips.

We have chosen an exceptional plating with a thick layer of silver – 20 µm, ensuring very high quality and long-term durability.

Gold plating

A  layer of pure 24-carat gold is deposited over the silver plating.

Thanks to its high thermal conductivity, gold provides a soft and warm sensation on the lips.

We have chosen an excellence plating in pure 24-carat gold, the only metal that does not oxidize over time.

  1. François Dingreville

Thank you for sending the mouthpieces, which I received this Monday.
After a successful test, I’ll be ordering the 163A, which is outstanding in every respect:
    – projection
    – comfort
    – sound quality
    – ease of play
    – and a very nice design, especially with the short shank!
    You truly create dreams!
Thank you for your advice and excellent service — I’ll be sure to tell people about your work, especially since it’s #MadeInMontBlanc.

I’ve been using the Short Shank 163A for a couple of months now, mostly in a brass band setting — rehearsals, concerts, and church services.
For me and my cornet, it’s easily the best-fitting mouthpiece I’ve ever played.
Comfortable rim, easier to play, better endurance and slotting — my chops last longer, my air lasts longer, and I don’t get tired as quickly.
My articulation has improved, and I can shape the sound more freely.
A professional friend who heard me switch between the Donat and a Denis Wick 5 immediately said the intonation was better with the Donat — I agree.
This mouthpiece is a fine balance of all design aspects, and it’s now my main, No. 1 cornet mouthpiece.
I’m truly grateful for this excellent piece.
    Thank you, Dimitri!

I think the mouthpiece is very well designed and plays beautifully.
The weight/dimension balance is excellent — response and ease of play are better than any mouthpiece I’ve had before.
The tone is even across all registers, stable in the low range, and the manufacturing and packaging are truly first-class.
It feels like this is exactly the kind of mouthpiece I was looking for!
I’m happy and grateful, and I’m going to play it tonight in my brass band.
